LEED Green Buildings
 
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)® program objective is to encourage the design and construction of buildings that have little or no negative impact on occupants and the environment. The LEED® 2009 Green Building Rating System is based on a series of prerequisites and credits within seven different categories, Sustainable Sites (SS), Water Efficiency (WE), Energy and Atmosphere (EA), Materials and Resources (MR), Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ), Innovation in Operations (IO), and Regional Priority (RP).
Paragon developed an outdoor airflow measurement system (Model OAFE-1500) that can be utilized to obtain credit for IEQ Credit 1: Outdoor Air Delivery Monitoring. Paragon’s airflow/pressure measurement systems can also be used as tools (1) to measure the outdoor air ventilation rate/volume or space pressure to ensure that the requirements of various LEED® prerequisites/credits are met, (2) to reduce/measure HVAC energy consumption associated with outdoor air ventilation and building pressurization, (3) in the commissioning processes for system performance testing, and (4) in control strategies associated with thermal comfort as follows:
